12. Anaphase What happens? The spindle fibers pull the chromosomes apart at the middle

13. ANAPHASE Chromosomes are pulled to opposite ends of the cell

14. Telophase What happens? Nuclear membrane reappears Chromosomes disappear The cell begins to be pinched in the middle

15. TELOPHASE A new nucleus forms around each set of chromosomes. This produces one cell with two nuclei

16. Cytokinesis What happens? The cell is pinched in half Two identical cells are made

17. CYTOKINESIS A new cell membrane (and cell wall in plants) is created between the two new cells. TWO IDENTICAL CELLS ARE FORMED
