# 11 COMPLEX SHAPES! MA.7.4.1 Determine how measurements such as perimeter and area, of common shapes are affected when one of the attributes is changed in some way. By:

Definition. Combine parts or all of simple shapes.

Drawing. Half circle rectangle Half circle This shape combines two or more simple shapes (rectangle, half circles) to make one complex shape.

Create a question ! Roy was getting school supplies and it came down To erasers. The school says that the erasers need to be Oval shaped and have to have an area of at least 150 2 mm. he found the eraser below............... What is the area of Roys eraser? Is it big enough for Roy to use? 4 mm 10 mm

Solution! Solution! Solution! Area of circle = R* R* Pi diameter = 4, 4/2 = 2, radius = 2 2* 2 = 4* 3.14 =12.56 mm 2 Area of a rectangle = L* W 10* 4 = 40 mm 2 Area of circle and Rectangle = 12.56 + 40 Area = 52.56 mm 2 52.56 mm 2 < 150 mm 2 Answers: The area of the eraser is 52.56 mm 2, and no it is not big enough for Roy to use in school.

Thanks for watching!!!!! The people that Id like to thank are....... ME!!!!!!!! And google for giving me pictures!! And Mr.Imamura!!!! And thats it!! the rest of you did nothing for the good of me!!!
