Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome Taybi, while in pedi radiology training in 1955, recognized RTS in 7 unrelated children, described it in 1957, identified as a recognizable syndrome with Dr. Jack Rubinstein in 1963 Broad thumbs and great toes, facial abnormalities and mental retardation Caused by a deletion or mutation of the short arm of EP300 gene Over 400 cases reported with this syndrome since 1963

Hooshang Taybi, MD Retired as Director of Radiology at CHO in 1986 Learned how to sew Gave clothing to unprivileged children and victims of earthquake in his home country Always said “.. It is better to give than to receive..” Loved poetry, painting, ceramics

Hooshang Taybi, MD He learned how to make jewelries and fashioned ceremonial presidential chains for SPR and ESPR Gave generously to SPR and the children’s Hospital Oakland Foundation Wrote his autobiography at the request of a nephew in Iran and later translated it into English Dr. Taybi died at his home in Walnut Creek, California on August 22, 2006
