The Read Every Day book needs to be completed every day. It is part of the home practice expectations It is not a record of what you read, but your interactions with your reading. Takes 3 sentences- Summarise, analyse and judge. There are sentence starts at the front of the book. Please take a look at their RED book at least once a week, more if you can. Spellings- there is a clear set of spellings that all year 6 need to be able to spell- this half term we will be focussing on these spellings. RED book & spellings

We appreciate any help that you can provide at home with your child’s practice. We understand that some tasks may be difficult and allow children time during Early Morning activities to ask any questions they need. Please share your stories with your children as it helps them to become creative in class and develops their communication and literacy skills. Talk to your child about what they are reading. Share texts/newspapers/books with your child. Ask questions about what they are reading. Take a look at the maths handouts so you know what the school method is. Add up shopping bills/ work out change required etc. Make sure that there is a clear space for home practice to be completed Access the maths programs we use at school- MyMaths & Sumdog- speed is everything Helping at home

It is very important that your child is on time to school. Lessons start promptly at 9:00 and being absent or late has an effect on their learning. It is about starting practices for life- attendance and punctuality is necessary in business. We do allow children to come into the building at 8:45 so that they can prepare themselves for the day. This is also an opportunity for them to discuss any issues they may have with their home practice. If your child is absent at any time, please make sure that you contact the school immediately. Attendance & Punctuality

Reminder of the contact sheet so that we have the most current contact number If the number changes please give that to Miss Fairman. These sheets are very important because they are how we contact you with any issues that arise at school. Contact Sheets
