Wheel and Axle A simple machine that has a center rod (axle) that is attached to a wheel Gear A Gear has a wheel with jagged edges like teeth that fit between the teeth of another gear, causing the wheel to turn.

Wedge A simple machine that is made up of 2 inclined planes that come together; used to cut or split an object
