Page 8 © Kordz Pty Ltd 2011 Resolution vs. Data rates Total data rate is determined essentially by video resolution 720p/1080i60= 2.22Gbps 1080p24-2D= 1.78Gbps 1080p24-3D= 3.56Gbps 1080p60-2D= 4.45Gbps 1080p60-3D= 8.92Gbps 4K (2160p)= 8.92-9.52Gbps

Page 9 © Kordz Pty Ltd 2011 Current HDMI device limitations Data rate potential is limited by silicon in the device Transmitter in source devices Repeater in AVRs & most extenders Receiver in sink devices Silicon implementation is developed to cater for demands of the day COMING 9Gbps MAX 2006-2011 6.75Gbps MAX 2003-2006 4.95Gbps MAX

13
Page 13 © Kordz Pty Ltd 2011 RS-232 function Supports direct pass-through of all RS-232 character encodings, voltage and signalling rates as defined by the EIA Performs no processing of RS-232 signals, just pure pass-through
