2015 Key Stage 2 Statutory Assessment Tests (SATS)

Purpose of the Tests: To assess level of knowledge and understanding in relation to the National Curriculum. To identify strengths and weaknesses. To inform secondary school. School performance data. Testing at the end of Key Stage 2 is statutory. Note: Teacher assessment is highly valued by this school and is also provided to secondary schools.

Pupils must take their tests on the following days: The 2015 Key Stage 2 statutory tests will take place from: Monday 11th May to Thursday 14th May

English Monday 11th May Morning: Reading test, Level 3 - 5 15 minutes reading time plus 45 minutes to answer questions Level 6 English reading test (1 hour)

English Tuesday 12th May Morning: Grammar, punctuation and spelling test (levels 3-5) 1 hour in total. Level 6 Grammar, punctuation and spelling test – 1 hour in total.

Maths Wednesday 13th May Mental maths test 20 minutes Maths test A (45 minutes) Thursday 14th May Maths test B (45 minutes) Maths Level 6 Papers 1 and 2 (both 30 minutes)

Schools are responsible for deciding the start time for the tests each day. We will begin tests at approximately 9:15am each day. All tests will be in the hall introduced by Mrs. Wood who will also supervise along with Mr. Foxwell, Mr. Wake & Mrs. Rolf.

How to help: an early night on each day of that week a good breakfast supporting and discussing homework relax!

Results The marked scripts and results will be returned to schools in July – normally around the second week. Your child will receive their results on a standardised form as soon as possible after we have received them.
