5 LUNCH 4 Students are informed when account funds are nearly depleted. 4 Students also have the option of bringing a lunch from home. 4 Lunch & Recess: 1:00-1:40. Students have lunch first.

6 Assignment Notebook & Jobs F organizational and study skills: Completing assignment notebook daily & preparing homework. F Opportunity to ask homework questions. F Announcements F Student jobs

7 5 Day Specialist Schedule 4 Day 1: P.E./Spanish (1/2 hour each) 4 Day 2: Music 4 Day 3: Technology 4 Day 4: Art 4 Day 5: P.E./Spanish 4 Media: students can check out books independently or on the scheduled class visit (Digital Day 5).

8 BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS 4 Show Trojan Pride. 4 Be Safe 4 Be Kind 4 Work Hard

9 CONSEQUENCES Logical and Natural Consequence System. School wide behavioral expectations and discipline procedures are Be Kind, Be Safe, and Work Hard.

10 REWARDS 4 Verbal praise 4 Notes/parent calls from teacher  Acknowledging a student ’ s performance in a group/class setting. 4 Classroom rewards-free time, class games.

11 GRADING 4 Report Cards: 2 Grading Periods. 1 report card issued in Jan. and 1 toward the end of the year. 4 Assessment is based upon a rubric scale of Exemplary, Proficient, In-Progress, and Needs Assistance.

12 PARENT SUPPORT 4 Keep consistent communication between home and school. Please call, email, or stop-in.  Confirm your child ’ s homework expectations each day. Check for completion, and sign their assignment notebooks. 4 Help your child get permission forms back to school in a timely manner.

13 ATTENDANCE  It ’ s important that the kids are here and ON TIME! 4 Excused absences are illness and physician appointments 4 Vacation Notifications should be completed in advance (available in office)

14 CONFERENCES 4 1 fall conference and 1 spring conference. 4 October 6 th, 8 th, 13th, 4-8:00PM; 4 Goal setting, performance evidence, and student needs will be discussed. 4 Conferences will be student-led, with active participation from the student.

15 PAPERWORK 4 Before you leave today, please do the following: –Please send me an email so I can build a parent address book. –sean.peterson@wayzata.k12.mn.us Please take a Parent packet from the cart in the rear. Feel free to fill out the paperwork at home and return with your student. Have you logged into Skyward? Please update your information.
