Remembering Battles L – Lexington and Concord – “Shot heard around the world!” First Battles B – Bunker Hill – a moral victory for the American troops (due to heavy British casualties) S – Saratoga – Turning point of the war… it was after this battle that France decided to help us by becoming involved. Y – Yorktown – Britain surrendered to the US. Create a mnemonic device to remember the order of the battles listed above

Nov 2, 2010 Warm-Up 4 minutes: Pick up a sheet of manila paper and draw the flee map (side board) Leave room underneath for information. TODAY’s Activity Confederation to Constitution Flee Map (this is a grade) 1.Divide into groups 2.Each group will be assigned 1 topic from the flee map 3.For each topic, you will provide on sticky paper – 15 mins : Who What When Where Why (significance) 4.Each group will do a gallery walk of the information and copy to their individual flow maps - 15 mins 5.If time permits, students will go to a different topic from their own and draw a picture that represents that topic - Discuss Chap 7 Questions Put Flee Map in Folder ----PAT Wed, Nov 3----- DLG: Identify key ideas of the Constitution Era HW: (1) Chap 8, Sec 1 Questions (no homework, no PAT) (2) Chap 8 Quiz – Friday (3) Six Weeks Test – Nov 11
