Information about the market where labor skills are exchanged for wages. This information can be descriptive (qualitative) or statistical (quantitative). The key elements in the labor market are the workers and jobs. WHAT IS LABOR MARKET INFORMATION?

During the modern day Great Recession, Los Angeles County saw 368,100 civilians join the ranks of the unemployed. During the 31 month period, an average of 11,155 jobs were lost per month.

Emerging Trends Our global economy lets employers move work around the world. The aging workforce will mean retirements and worker shortages. Increased demands for healthcare, leisure time activities, and business services. Today’s worker changes employers (not jobs) an average of six times. Employers look for workers who can take on a greater variety of tasks. Skills, not job titles, are the key to the future.
