Virus Model Project Fall 2011 Holiday X-tra Credit This project is due Monday January 2 nd - NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

You will be making a model of a Virus It must be 3 dimensional It must show the two main parts of the virus, the nucleic acid core (DNA or RNA) and the protein coat (capsid) Must be hangable (we will be hanging them from the ceiling!) Some things to keep in mind: Should be light weight Should be light weight Make it sturdy Make it sturdy No food products No food products Nothing flammable Nothing flammable

In addition to your 3D model, you need to turn in an index card with the following information about your virus: Name of your virus How is your virus spread? How is your virus treated? 2 additional facts unique to your specific virus
