1 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3: 5 & 6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3: 5 & 6) Dealing With Decisions

2 Three Delusions About Decisions Delusion #1: God’s will is hard to find! “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5) “Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105) The challenge is not finding God’s will, it is obeying it. 3 Delusion #2: God wants me to know everything about the future! Knowing everything about the future does not make us godly, knowing and trusting the One who holds the future does. “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-for we walk by faith, not by sight…” (2 Cor. 5:6-8) Delusion #2: God wants me to know everything about the future! 4 Delusion #3: My happiness is God’s greatest priority for my life! God is more concerned about my character than my comfort. “Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great…” (Matt. 5: 11-12) Happiness is way overrated. Delusion #3: My happiness is God’s greatest priority for my life! 5 Dealing With Decisions #1 Resolve to believe! “Trust in the Lord” (Prov. 3:5) #2 Relinquish Control! “Do not lean on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5b) #3 Recognize His way during the way! “In all your ways acknowledge him” (Prov. 3:6) #4 Rejoice in the promise! “And he will make your paths straight” (Prov. 3:6b) #1 Resolve to believe! 3:6b)
