2 Indonesia adopt International agreement, such as: Millenium Development Goals (MDG) Word Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) World Summit on Information Society (WSIS)

3 MDG (2000) Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Achieve universal primary education Promote gender equality and empower women Reduce child mortality Improve maternal health Comabte HIV/Aids, malaria and other desease Ensure environmental sustainability Develop a global partnership for development

4 WSIS (2003) Serve global references for improving connectivity and accsess in the use of ICT achive by 2015 To connect villages with ICT and establish community access point To connect universities,colleges, sec. and primary school with ICT To connect scientific & research centers with ICTs To connect public libraries, cultural centers,museum,post office,archive, health centers, hospitals with ICTs To all local &central gov.dept.and establish websites & e-mail To adapt all primary and secondary school curicula to meet the chalengges of the information society To ensure that all of the world’s population haave access to television and radio services To encourage the dev. Of content and put in place technical conditions in order to facilitate the presence and use of all world languages on the internet To ensure that more than half the world’s inhabitant have access to ICTs within their reach.

6 Achivement steps: The first 5 years: food securyity, the quality of health&education; environmenal management; ICT The first 10 years: Transportation & logistic; energy;manufacture;new materials;biotechnology The 20 years: 1. Expendite the self sufficiency & wealth of nation through S&T suporting 2. Quality of life for social, economy, and culture based on knowledge based society.

7 Implementation: Warintek Digital Library ICT Training Portal Development (ROISAP, ASTnet, INDOLANC) IGOS E-content Award Information Literacy Cooperation (China, India,Italy)

8 Warintek:Technology Information Kiosk Goal: empowering of community members (documentation/information centre, SMEs, cooperation, NGO, libraries,researcher, student etc), and the use of such technology for variety of application benefiting sustainable human dev.and same time may be used to established a linkages between them. PDII supply the databases of appropriate technology as well as S&T information, every 6 months.

9 Digital library: Objectives: To develope new strategies in library management.(using docushare-Xerox) To promote digitizing on grey literature, as well as theses & dissertation To promote libraries as knowledge & learning centre To open access to scientific information To traine document & knowlegde management for libraries To digitize local information

10 ICT Training: Cooperation with ITU;training computer, networking & CCNA, in state University of Medan (UNIMED)-North Sumatra; Cendrawasih University-Papua Cisco training Academy: Cooperation among Cisco, Ministry for Research & Technology, and PDII,activities: CCNA training, create 20 local academy;create 2 regional academy

12 Portal development 2): Indonesian Languges and culture (INDOLANC) www.indolanc.org www.indolanc.org Indonesia has a rich heritage in term of over 700 local languages. Unesco promote the indigeneous languages in diferrent countries so these languages effectively survive. Unesco joint effort with the Ministry for R&T, National Informatics Centers (NIC-India) to design,develop host a Regional Portal for Indigenous Languange of Indonesia. The susbtance support by Atmajaya University, PDII and Center of Languages-Department of Education as a substance
