Document title Transforming lives through learning Put young people at the heart of policy Increased engagements with Young people in order for their contributions to be respected and valued and their views are listened to with regard to issues that affect them Increased opportunities for Youth work to be firmly embedded at the heart of policies that are central to making Scotland the best place to be young and grow up in Increased opportunities for young people to be be directly involved in local and national decision making, including designing, co-producing and delivering services where possible Increase opportunities for Youth work to make positive contributions to young peoples health and wellbeing

Document title Transforming lives through learning Recognise the value of youth work Increase recognition that Youth work, through the CLD Guidance and CLD Regulations, is firmly embedded within the broader field of Community Learning and Development within Community Planning arrangements

Increased opportunities for youth work organisations to engage in joint- evaluation of young people’s achievements Increased opportunities for Young people to be supported to record and articulate their own learning through youth work practice

Document title Transforming lives through learning Strategic support to deliver the National Youthwork strategy The following are actions derived from the National Youth Work Strategy which will deliver the ambitions and outcomes through strategic support. Youth work resources to be targeted to where and to whom they are most needed. Young people are encouraged to volunteer eg peer education, youth leadership programmes through engagement with youth work projects More Young people services to be co-produced and co-delivered More emphasis on programmes which will embed a youth voice to improve and design services Health and Wellbeing: More projects which support the partnership working with schools, local authorities, third sector to improve opportunities for young people to achieve and attain in school and make positive transitions beyond school. More projects which build the capacity of youth organisations to support young people to: a)articulate Articulate their learning and recognise their achievement. b)Prepare for employment Workforce development: Developing the Professional learning to improve practice and build the capacity of the workforce for paid staff and volunteers More Youth work organisations actively participating in CLD planning (guidance and regulations) at a local level Projects where quality assurance and self-evaluation are integral to continuous improvement of youth work
