Solar SYSTEM/ MATH ILP SATURN
By Sydney Spear Grade: 3 Teacher: Mrs. Milligan
2
SIZE of Saturn Saturn’s size is 75,000 miles wide.
Saturn’s mass is 95 times that of Earth.
3
Distance from the sun Saturn’s distance from the sun is 888 million miles.
4
weather Saturn is so cold people could not breathe or live on Saturn.
It can get to -285 degrees Fahrenheit. There are 1000 mile per hour wind speeds on Saturn. Storms on Saturn can last months or even years.
5
Atmosphere / landscape
Saturn is a big ball of gas (gas giant). It has a rock core, gaseous outside that is kept in place by gravity, and has rings made of dusty ice chunks.
6
Neighboring planets Saturn’s neighbors are Jupiter and Uranus.
7
Day length A day on Earth is 24 hours.
A day on Saturn is 10 hours 39 minutes.
8
Year length Saturn’s year length is 29 earth years.
9
How many moons? So far, 62 moons have been discovered in orbits around Saturn, and 53 of them have been officially named.
10
Comparing Number of moons

comparing my weight on earth to my weight on other planets
If you were on other planets, you would weigh a different amount than you do on Earth. The weight that you feel depends on many things, including your actual mass, the mass of the planet you're on, and how far away you are from the center of that planet. To see what I weighed on other planets I had to multiply my weight of 56 pounds on Earth by the gravitational pull or gravitation factor relative to Earth of other planets.
12
My weight on other planets
Mercury: 56 x 0.38 = pounds Venus: 56 x 0.91 = pounds Mars: 56 x 0.38 = pounds Jupiter: 56 x 2.54 = pounds Saturn: 56 x 1.08 = pounds Uranus: 56 x 0.91 = pounds Neptune: 56 x 1.19 = pounds

Why is the planet interesting?
I think Saturn is interesting because it has fascinating rings and because it is the second largest planet in the solar system. I also like that its nickname is “the jewel of the solar system”.

MORE INTERESTING facts
GAS GIANT NO SOLID SURFACE UNBELIEVABLE LIGHTS NO LIVING LIFE MOST VISIBLE 10 TIMES WIDER THAN EARTH TURNS CLOCKWISE SLOWLY SATURDAY IS NAMED AFTER SATURN THE SYMBOL FOR SATURN IS THE SICKLE THE RINGS ARE BRIGHTER THAN SATURN ITSELF
