A Few Small Facts The Vietnam Memorial Wall was dedicated to the veterans of the Vietnam War. The Memorial Wall is made of two black granite walls, each 246.9 feet and tops off at 10.1 feet. Construction began in March,11,1982 and was completed in November,13,1982.

Heroes Of The War John McCain was a P.O.W.(Prisoner Of War) for 5 1/2 years Marvin G. Shields got the Medal of Honor for extreme bravery behind enemy lines and saved over 10 lives. Gary L. Miller also got the Medal of Honor for saving his patrol by jumping onto a live grenade
