2. Aaliyah Biography On January 16th 1979 the world was blessed with the birth of Aaliyah Dana Haughton in Brooklyn, New York. Aaliyah was raised by her father, mother and brother.

6. Aaliyah At Young Age In 1994, at the age of 15, Her album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number was released and went platinum in the United States when she was 15, thanks to the popular singles "At Your Best (You Are Love)," "Back And Forth," and the title track.

7. R&B Life Her (Double-Platinum) sophomore album, One In A Million, was produced by then-unknowns Timbaland and Missy Elliott and was released in late 1996. It featured the international smash hit, "If Your Girl Only Knew," whose single has gone double platinum in America. 9. Last Good-Bye Aaliyah Dana Haughton was killed in a plane crash (while shooting her video Rock The Boat) after take off in the Bahamas on Aug 25, 2001. She was 22 and died instantly. It wasn't only her it was the pilot and some of her friends.
