4. 4 Information Technology Centre Status of Implementation Plan  A new building may be constructed for the institute. Alternatively, the building should be properly renovated and modified so that ventilation is ensured.  It is strongly recommended that a dedicated standby generator should be made available so that lab work and classes are not disturbed due to frequent power breakdown.  The Center has a severe shortage of highly qualified teachers.  Serious efforts are required to bring teacher-student ratio down.  Number of trainers in laboratories may be increased.  P-III computers are being used which are almost obsolete. The P-III computers should be replaced immediately by the latest computers.  Regular annual budget may be allocated to the seminar library so that the purchase of latest books may be ensured. The work is in progress.
