Long and short talks: Are the same aspects important? Possible answers: The rules shown in the morning are the same. It might be even more important that - the aim is clear, - you consider who your audience is, - the visualisations are easy to understand. Helps saying the important things during the available time Possible Misunderstanding: This Intruduction is NOT the introduction of your project it‘s the introduction of your talk/presentation !!! Remember the rules concerning diagrams and tables !!! Marion Degenhardt – University of Education, Freiburg

Feedback Rules Marion Degenhardt – University of Education, Freiburg (1) Say the positive things first! (2) Before you criticise something: Ask why it has been done in this way! (3) Speak in the „I-form“, instead of „it is...“! Examples: - „ I‘m a bit confused “ instead of „ It‘s confusing. “ - „ I‘m not sure about the message “ instead of „ The message is not clear “ - „ For me the background seem to be... “ instead of „ The background is... “ (4) Give tips, in case you have some! Try to use the „I-form“ again. (0) Ask whether your feedback is wanted or not!!!

Task 5 Marion Degenhardt – University of Education, Freiburg (1) Look through your presentation again. (2) Decide: What are the most important points/questions for you where you would like to have a feedback, e.g. - concerning the chosen background, - concerning the amount of information on a certain slide, - etc. (3) Choose 2 at the most 3 slides which you want to discuss with the others.
