Purpose of Peer Learning Communities 5 To create a forum of similarly-focused grantees to: Offer frequent opportunities to learn about peer projects, challenges and successes Provide a venue for peer discussion to support sharing and problem-solving Access to Data Solutions national subject matter experts and practitioners Learning events based on the Community’s identified technical assistance needs

NWIB’s WIF Grant Proposal 10 “ …This proposal requests funding for an integrated database and for the staff to monitor the database, identify causal relationships between various outcomes, apply a direct and targeted intervention approach, evaluate the impact of such intervention, and adjust training, placement, and associated services proactively in a similar approach to the way police departments have addressed quality of life issues via CompStat…” 10

Goals of WIF Enhanced understanding of the Newark workforce system that will empower the NWIB to: Invest more in areas proven to have the best outcomes for jobseekers and businesses Diagnose systemic and agency level issues, and provide the information needed to track their resolution Create the infrastructure required to make data collection and analysis the key to prudent decision- making for all workforce programs 11
