1 What you should bring to make the most of your day: * An item for the potluck (no chips please) * Something to BBQ (burgers, hotdogs, chicken, fish, steak, portabella mushrooms, vegie kababs, or whatever) * Beverages (Beer and Wine are allowed) - we provide bottled water, soda pop and ice. * Your own tableware & plates - if you would like to be more ecologically friendly * Sunscreen and Hats * We also provide: plates, cups, napkins, plastic ware, chile roasting supplies, chips / dips, hot dog / hamburger buns, tortillas, condiments (including ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo) and of course LOTS of Fresh Roasted Green Chile. To Attend (with or without ordering Chile): RSVP to Irene Lefton (408) 554-0644 or Iflefton.chile@gmail.com. Please leave your name, address, phone number and email address when you call. We appreciate your RSVP so we know how much food to purchase. This information is also essential in case of cancellation or park closure due to fire risk. Event Cost: $20.00 Per Family Plus the additional parking fee ($5.00) at the entrance to the park. Add a Chapter Membership for $15.00 or more and help support our endowed scholarship for NorCal Amigos!! Instructions for Ordering Chile - DEADLINE to order and PAY is Friday, September 3rd. ADVANCE ORDERS ONLY – You must be present to pick up your chile - $40.00 per 10LB bag. (Each 10 lb bag contains roughly 60 chiles) – We must receive your payment/order BEFORE Friday, September 3 rd to reserve your chile for pickup at the event. The chile is grown in the Hatch area of Southern New Mexico. We have requested mainly “ hot ” and some "medium" chile. USING OUR FORMER SUPPLIER AGAIN!!! We have grills/charcoal and 2 drum roasters available to roast your Chile and we provide supplies and ziploc bags or you can take it home fresh if you prefer. There will be a LIMITED amount of roasted chile for sale on site at $8.00 per half dozen $12.00 per dozen – two dozen limit. Head North on Camino Pablo Road for a long time (it becomes San Pablo Dam Road). Turn right at the stoplight onto Bear Creek Road continue for a long time. From I-80 - Take the San Pablo Dam Road Exit and head East through town past the San Pablo Reservoir. Turn Left at the stoplight onto Bear Creek Road continue for a long time. From Bear Creek Road, the Park Entrance will be on your right just beyond the Happy Valley Road Intersection. The Newt Hollow Picnic Area is on the right as you enter the Parking Lot. Pay your parking fee and park in the parking lot on the right. You'll smell the Chile - follow your nose. Want to contribute to our NorCal Scholarship Fund & have FUN at the same time?
