3 1783: The United States Land received from Great Britain at the end of the Revolutionary War.

4 1803: Louisiana Purchase Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory from France for $15 Million

5 1818: Ceded by Britain Land received in a treaty with Great Britain

6 1819: Florida Cession United States received Spanish Cession by agreeing to pay $5 million to Americans owed money by Spain.

7 1845: Texas Annexation The United States acquired the Texas Annexation 10 years after the Lone Star Republic won independence from Mexico.

8 1846: Oregon Country Obtained by treaty with Great Britain after 28 years of joint occupation.

9 1848: Mexican Cession The United States defeated Mexico in the Mexican War and gained the Mexican Cession

10 1853: Gadsden Purchase obtained from Mexico for $10 million, thereby providing a level route for a transcontinental railroad.
