States Many states are federated states that participate in a union. A federated state is a territorial and constitutional community forming part of a federation. These states differ from a sovereign state in that they have transferred a portion of their powers to a federal government.

Cities A large or important town that is usually governed by a mayor or a board/council

Capitals The city or town that is the official seat of government in a country, state, etc. (e.g. Tokyo is the capital of Japan)

U.S. Geography Project Choose a state within the U.S. – Capital city – Popular cities – Tourist areas – things to do/things to see – Fun facts – Brief history – Location (in relevance to the U.S. map)

Rubric 5 – Illustrative, informative, colorful, and meaningful information 4- Decent amount of pictures, good information, good use of color, and some information not necessary 3- Few pictures, lack of information, few colors used, and irrelevant information
