13. Climate change facts…… By year 2040, it is expected that the Arctic Ice Circle will have an ice-free summer. The Oceans of the world will become more acidic as the carbon dioxide is absorbed by the world’s oceans; it mixes with seawater to create a type of carbonic acid. More rivers and lakes in the African region and in the Amazon are drying to cause drastic changes in the environment. More wildfires are caused by global warming as the mean temperatures rise, air becomes drier and hotter thus in turn fuelling wild fires and forest fires.
