9. What is a Common Country Assessment? In line with MD/ MDGs, international treaties and conventions ratified by the country and other international commitments Causal analysis – identifies root causes and their effects Capacity gap analysis – understand reasons for the inability of rights holders to claim rights, and duty bearers for not being able to deliver their commitments Conflict sensitive analysis including factors that induce emergency situations Complements national analytical work being done for the National Development Plan
