Student Body eIn our classroom there are a total of 21 students between the ages of 5 to 6. eThere are 13 girls and 8 boys eThe cultural backgrounds include African- American, Latino, Caucasian and Japanese. eOne of the African-American students suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder

Unit Theme e The Unit Theme is “ Weather All Around Us e Over the course of four weeks Students will explore the following, Snow and Ice, Clouds and Rain, Wind and Storms, and the Four Seasons

Unit Goals eThrough this Unit students will better Understand Weather and How it effect them eRaise questions about the natural world.

Unit Objectives eIdentify different types of clouds eIllustrate their favorite part of the story eCreate snowflakes and show how they are different eDescribe a Thunderstorm eDescribe how they feel on a rainy day eCompare the four seasons eMeasure snow and find the weight of it eFollow directions to produce ice cream

A Few Activities… e The teacher will create a “Twister In A Jar” which will show the children what this type of weather pattern could look like e The Children make their own Homemade Ice Cream using ice, vanilla, milk, rock salt and sugar e Students will participate in the Weather Obstacle course. Children will compete multiple physical activities that represent different weather patterns

End of the Unit Activity At the end of the unit, the students will host a Beach party. The student will eat lots of summer food and play lots of summer games.
