TEAM Training of Educators of Adults in an intercultural Module SOCRATES Program Grundtvig 2 Action Learning partnership project in France, Italy and Turkey

Objectives The main aim of this project is promoting cross cultural awareness thanks to the development of competences in a global context of adult training. To achieve this objective, the four partners worked to achieve the following goals: to exchange experiences in adult education and pedagogical and didactic approaches to intercultural training in order to improve the quality of teaching; identify and exchange good practices to motivate learners; collect information and create a database of good practices to learn a language.

Main activities needs analysis explained in a report on adult education; preparation of a methodological guide for teachers that fosters intercultural awareness from the linguistic point of view. processing of a manual of good teaching practices in adults education; transnational meetings of partners to establish the working methodology, to exchange experiences, to analyze and to evaluate the work done. This project falls into a typology of “Learning Partnership”. Therefore it focuses on the process more then on the result and it’s aim is to establish cooperation among organisations working in the field of adult education in formal and not formal sectors. The main activities are addressed to teachers to adults and their students. They are:

The outcomes 1) a report on in the educational system and especially on the training of adults in each partner’s country 2) a booklet aimed to improve the intercultural awareness of the trainees through reading, speaking, listening and writing activities in language learning. Each activity was described by a teacher or trainer of a partner-organisation. Then, it was tested by another partner during training sessions.

Jugendhilfe Diffusion and dissemination newsletters sent to 3000 schools and institutions all over Europe; web pages in four languages EN-FR-IT-TR inserted on the partners websites; an issue of the periodical Scuol@Europa specially dedicated to Adult Education and TEAM project sent to 3500 secondary schools and educational policy-makers in Italy; 1000 brochures delivered to different schools in Aksaray and surrounding; a presentation of the project on the magazine “Information Continue” sent to 5000 decision makers in the field of training, human resources, employment, etc, in Lorraine; a presentation of the GRUNDTVIG program in GRETA regional net; a presentation of the project activities in Grundtvig 2 European Conference in Helsinki on 4-8 October 2006 by Uludag University; a presentation of the project activities during the “Teachers’ Day Program“in Aksaray on November 2005 and November 2006;

Who are we? l Italy FENICE is a non-profit professional association usually involved in training of teachers and promoting the better access to education for all members of society. Has been a partner/promoter in many projects in the framework of Socrates, Leonardo & Youth Programme and is also specialised in diffusion. In addition to two web sites ( www.fenice- eu.org and www.edutheatre.it ) it publish a newspaper called «Scuol@Europa» sent to all the secondary schools of Italy and a newsletter in three languages (IT, EN, FR) sent out three times a year all over Europe to institutions and policy makers).www.fenice- eu.orgwww.edutheatre.it

GIP Groupement d'Intérêt Public Formation tout au long de la vie – Nancy, France - GIP is a regional service for the development/promotion of lifelong training and teachers training in Lorraine. The National Education network aims at improving individual and collective skills, in order to accompany the changes in the social, cultural and business world. They work with anyone who needs lifelong further education, especially with people, who don’t have a very high qualification (up to the "baccalaureate", end of upper secondary school). As a network, they experiment distance learning and have an wide experience in European projects, as partners or as promoters, and in pedagogical production. Who are we? France

Uludag University – Bursa, Turkey – This university includes 11 faculties, 12 vocational schools, 1 conservatoire, 3 institutes, 11 research centres and 6 departments. The University has carried out many Leonardo and Socrates Projects both as coordinator and partner. Who are we? Turkey
