7 7 EICs and IRCs today IRC Network financed under FP6 currently 71 IRC consortia and 223 organisations in 33 countries (EU25, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, EFTA, Israel, Chile) hosted mainly by Technology Institutes, Research Centres, Chambers of Commerce, or Development Agencies some common host structures with EICs main funding by the hosts, co-funding by the Commission Political direction from Commission Network animated through Secretariat EIC network financed under MAP currently 267 EICs, 13 EICCs in third countries, and 25 associate members in altogether 42 countries (EU25, Accession and Candidate Countries, Mediterranean Countries, Ukraine, USA, Chile) hosted mainly by Chambers of Commerce, Craft Chambers, Financial Institutions some common host structures with IRCs main funding by the hosts, co-funding by the Commission Political direction from the Commission Network animated through Central Support Structure

9 9 Support Services in CIP CIP Business Support Networks: One Stop Shop concept financed under CIP (Art. 20 & Annex 3) Information, Feedback and Business co-operation services = EIC Innovation, Technology and Knowledge Transfer Services = IRC In most cases different Network Partners for EIC and IRC = Guaranteed Signposting of clients ( mandatory “no wrong door”) In several cases same Network Partners for EIC and IRC i.e. Services in the same building Political direction from European Commission Animation and management through Executive Agency Networking among and between all EICs and IRCs
