22. God Plan Through Suffering Romans 8:18-30

Paul’s Bold Claim “What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later.” *How can you down play what I’m struggling with right now? *Paul, too, was a man who struggled *He knew that suffering was an inevitable pathway to future glory *This glory far outweighs the struggle ~How do we know this?

24. The Proof 1.Creation is waiting for it -For that day when the curse will be removed -When the universe will be restored to its original order 2.We are waiting for it -No more sin and suffering -We are saved, but haven’t yet experienced all of God’s salvation -Being saved, we have a foretaste of future glory 3.The Holy Spirit longs for it

25. “Under the groaning of creation there cries the groaning of a part-rescued church. But - and this is the really wonderful thing - beneath the groaning of a part-rescued church there cries the wordless groaning of God crying to God on behalf of His children. This prayer will most certainly be in accordance with the will of God and therefore we may rest assured it will be answered. And if the the groaning of God will be answered, so will the Spirit-given groaning of Christians, and so will the groaning anticipation of the whole creation. And this is why we may be sure that future glory outweighs our present suffering.”

26. The Conclusion “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” *Notice a couple things: 1. God’s will is directed toward those who love God...who have been called according to His purpose 2. For them, all things work for good 3. All things includes suffering 4. But this isn’t just my perception of good Ultimately, I have hope even in my suffering because He who called me made me right with God. And He who made me right with God will one day reveal to me the fullness of His glory
