One of God’s traits is His omniscience: Psa. 139:1-6; Prov. 5:21; Rom. 16:27; 1 Tim. 1:17; Lk. 12:6-7 But, did you know there are some things God does not know? Not challenging God’s omniscience, but there are certain things, due to their nature, God does not know. 3 God does not know…
4
Why does God hate sin? He knows it causes us to lose quality of life: Psa. 38:3-8; Judges 17-21; 1 Jn. 5:3; Jn. 10:10 He knows it causes us to lose quality of life: Psa. 38:3-8; Judges 17-21; 1 Jn. 5:3; Jn. 10:10 He knows sin’s consequences: Isa. 59:1-2; Rom. 6:23 He knows sin’s consequences: Isa. 59:1-2; Rom. 6:23 He knows the terror of hell: Matt. 25:41; Mk. 9:42-48; 2 Cor. 5:10-11a; Heb. 10:31; Matt. 10:28 He knows the terror of hell: Matt. 25:41; Mk. 9:42-48; 2 Cor. 5:10-11a; Heb. 10:31; Matt. 10:28 4 God does not know…

Many men deny the existence of sin; instead sin is classified as a “disease.” Men have a penchant for “classifying” sins (e.g., Roman Catholic: venial vs. mortal sins). Bible makes no such distinctions between sins: Rom. 1:29-31; Gal. 5:19-21; 1 Jn. 1:9; Acts 8:22 5 God does not know…
6
God always hated sin: Adams sin: Gen. 3 Adams sin: Gen. 3 David’s sin: 2 Sam. 12:1-14 David’s sin: 2 Sam. 12:1-14 Wisdom Literature describes God’s attitude toward sin: Psa. 5:4-6; 45:7; Prov. 6:16-19 God hates sin! Do we?! 6 God does not know…
7
God even hates “small” sins we sometimes think are trivial: Gal. 5:19-21; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Matt. 5:28; 1 Jn. 3:15 What attitude should we take toward sin? Rom. 12:9; Psa. 119:104; 101:3; Prov. 8:13; 1 Cor. 13:6; Rom. 13:11-14 7 God does not know…
8
Jn. 3:16; Eph. 2:4-5; Titus 3:3-7 As intensely as God hates sin He loves the sinner: Ezek. 33:11; 1 Cor. 6:9-11 God wants all to be saved: 1 Tim. 2:3-4; 2 Pet. 3:9, 15; Heb. 7:25 Jesus gave three vivid pictures illustrating God’s love of the sinner: Lk. 15:4-24; Rom. 5:8; Lk. 19:10; 1 Jn. 4:10 8 God does not know…

The gospel is God’s only means to call sinners to salvation: Rom. 1:16-17; 2 Thess. 2:13-14 Through the gospel message we gain salvation from sin and restored fellowship with God in the church: Eph. 1:3-13a, 22-23; 4:4; 5:23 We must never tamper with the gospel! Never change it! Always trust in its power! Gal. 1:6- 9; 2 Tim. 4:1-4 No social gospel! 9 God does not know…
10
10 God does not know… Indictments of the Social Gospel James P. Needham THE SOCIAL GOSPEL is a philosophy in religion that the church should concern itself with worldly problems rather than spiritual ones. It is more in ecology, biology, psychology and sociology than in theology. It is more concerned about preserving the whooping crane and alligator than about preaching Christ the emancipator. It spends more time fighting earthly pollution that MAY damage the body than with fighting spiritual plagues that WILL certainly damn the soul.
11
11 God does not know… Indictments of the Social Gospel James P. Needham THE SOCIAL GOSPEL is more interested in feeding the body than in nurturing the soul. Its goal is education, not salvation; recreation, not sanctification; fraternity, instead of eternity. It concerns itself with the “new morality” rather than with immortality; birth control rather than self-control; ministering to the “inner city” rather than seeking the heavenly city; slum clearance rather than with spiritual perseverance.
12
12 God does not know… Indictments of the Social Gospel James P. Needham THE SOCIAL GOSPEL philosophy is more interested in helping men make a living than in helping them make a life. It is more concerned with civil rights than with spiritual fights; civil laws rather than spiritual flaws; revolution rather than revelation; civil disobedience rather than spiritual obedience; communism rather than faith, repentance and baptism.
13
13 God does not know… Indictments of the Social Gospel James P. Needham THE SOCIAL GOSPEL is a lame duck spiritually because it is without the power to fulfill the lasting needs of the human race. It preaches Christ as a great social reformer, rather than as a Spiritual Savior. It limits His work to earthly benefits for mankind; and Paul said, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable” (I Cor. 15:19). Social ‘Gospelism’ can only leave man spiritually naked!
14
God has only promised one opportunity for salvation: TODAY! 2 Cor. 6:2; Jas. 4:14; Isa. 1:18; Eccl. 12:1 We cannot be complacent about our salvation: Rom. 13:11-14; Jn. 9:4; 1 Pet. 4:17-18 14 God does not know…
15
Cannot save ourselves no matter how good we live: Acts 10 & 11; Isa. 64:6; Titus 3:3-5; Jn. 3:3- 5; Gal. 3:26-27 Salvation is only found “in Christ”: 2 Tim. 2:10; Acts 4:12; Jn. 14:6; Jn. 8:24 In this regard Christianity is exclusive and intolerant: Jn. 3:36 To preach the politically correct message of society robs the gospel of its power! Gal. 1:10; 2 Tim. 4:3-4 15 God does not know…
16
Gospel is God’s “power unto salvation,” but God depends on us to take it to the world: Rom. 1:16-17; 10:14 Not just the duty of gospel preachers: Acts 8:1 Don’t need a grandiose plan with centralized organization and oversight: Acts 8:1 16 God does not know…
17
Each of us needs to prepare ourselves for the work of teaching others the gospel. Grow as a Christian: 2 Pet. 1:3-11 Greater zeal to share gospel: Matt. 16:26; 1 Cor. 9:16-17 Gain knowledge for right approach: Acts 2 vs. Acts 17 Realize God’s definition of success: 1 Cor. 3:5-9 Practice makes perfect! Success breeds success! 17 God does not know… 2 Cor. 5:10-11a: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;”
18
God is the potter and we are the clay; we can be a “vessel for honor” if we submit to Him: 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Acts 18:8; Jas. 1:21 God can save anyone: Acts 2:41; Mk. 15:14; Acts 9:1; 1 Tim. 1:12-13; Matt. 11:28-30 18 God does not know…
19
God has the ability: Jer. 32:17 God has proven He will go to any length necessary to help us: Rom. 8:32, 37 These are the questions: Do we have enough faith? Eph. 3:20; Psa. 37:5 Will we accept His will? Matt. 19:9; 6:10; 26:39 Do we have enough patience? Psa. 27:14 19 God does not know…
20
Paul is crystal clear: Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5 Many have tried to save themselves, but all have failed! Adam and Eve: Gen. 3 Cain: Gen. 4; Heb. 11:4 Jews: Gal. 2:16; 5:4 Can only be saved if we receive and obey a foolish message: 1 Cor. 1:18-31 20 God does not know…
21
God’s promise: Matt. 11:28-30 Our role: 1 Pet. 5:6-7 Glory of His promise: Heb. 4:16 21 God does not know…
22
God’s ability: Isa. 46:9-10; Rom. 11:33 Our obligation: Jas. 1:5-8 Faith to accept “no” as an answer: 2 Cor. 12:8-10 22 God does not know… 11
23
His ability: Mk. 4:39-40 Our duty: Phil. 4:6 His promise and reward: Phil. 4:7 23 God does not know… 12
24
Psalms a good place to go: Psa. 25:17; 71:20-21; 142:7 If we turn to God He will restore us: Psa. 80:7; 4:6-8 24 God does not know… 13
25
Physical hunger: Matt. 6:25- 34; Phil. 4:11-13 Spiritual hunger: Matt. 5:6; Rev. 22:14 25 God does not know… 14
26
“And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of” what God does not know… One Habit He Cannot Break: 1 Jn. 4:4 One Tear He Cannot Dry: Psa. 55:22; 56:3-11 One Who Loves You More Than Him: Jn. 15:13-14 Remember Point #4: God does not know any better time to obey the gospel than now! 2 Cor. 6:2; Acts 22:16 26 God does not know…
