Properties
deconex 50 AF is a modern, aldehyde-free surface disinfectant with a pleasant odor. It has been tested and
certified to DGHM standards.
According to the latest demands, this product achieves an excellent microbicidal
performance with a comparatively low concentration of active substances.
Within only 5 min, already a solution at 2% is fully effective against
bacteria, fungi and viruses (HBV/HIV). This high effectiveness allows not
only a rapid, but also an economic disinfection, even at places, where short
idle hours are important, e.g. operating theatres, baths and toilets.
The modern, «slim» formula of deconex 50 AF prevents floors from getting
sticky, which may be the case with some other products containing quaternary
ammonium compounds. Moreover, its "slim" formula and low dosage
result in a reduced release of organic substances into the environment.

Before using deconex 50 AF for the first time, we recommend a prior cleaning with deconex 36 INTENSIV. This
procedure is a must for synthetic materials, if an aldehyde containing product has been used before.
The efficacy of deconex 50 AF is affected by soap, anionic surfactants, and activated chlorine. For the intermediate
cleaning, no products should be used which contain soap and/or anionic surfactants. Furthermore no chlorine
containing disinfectants should be used before applying deconex 50 AF.

The properties of deconex 50 FF allow it to be used for surface disinfection
as well as for instrument disinfection. The wide material compatibility and the
additional cleaning properties are beneficial for both applications.
The good performance of deconex 50 FF under protein load, together with
the proven 7 day life of the use solution, is of particular importance for instrument
disinfection.
The microbicidal efficiency of deconex 50 FF allows a low dosage for application.
As a result, the product is very economical in use. A further noticeable
plus of deconex 50 FF is its pleasant odor. This is very important, when large

deconex 50 FF can be used with water of any hardness. The efficacy of deconex 50 FF is affected by soap, anionic

Application
deconex 53 PLUS is a disinfectant for instruments and care utensils used in hospitals, e.g. in operating theatres,
intensive care and nursing wards. Apart from use for all types of surgical instruments, the application of
deconex 53 PLUS explicitly includes disinfection and cleaning of all rigid and flexible endoscopes and anaesthetic
utensils. Furthermore, deconex 53 PLUS is also suitable for the disinfection of dental instruments,
including drills and other rotation instruments.
Properties
deconex 53 PLUS is free of aldehydes and phenols. The product is very gentle
to materials and has substantial cleaning power. Due to a completely new,
synergistic formulation principle, deconex 53 PLUS is very effective, despite its
comparatively low content of active substances. The high efficiency of the product
sets new standards in instrument disinfection. In addition, the excellent
spontaneous blood dissolving properties of deconex 53 PLUS allow cleaning
and disinfection to be performed in one step.
The useful life of a 1% solution of deconex 53 PLUS, loaded with 0.5% blood
and 0.2% albumin, was determined. The contaminated solution was still fully
active against S. aureus and P. aeruginosa after two weeks.
deconex 53 PLUS is also suitable for use in ultrasonic baths.

Before immersion in deconex 53 PLUS, instruments should as far as possible be dismantled or opened. Make
sure that all surfaces are completely wetted and that no air bubbles are present in cavities. After treatment,
instruments should be thoroughly rinsed with water. The final rinsing step before drying should always be carried
out with demineralized water. A visibly contaminated solution must be replaced with a fresh solution. Please
ask for our detailed application description for deconex 53 PLUS.
Before using deconex 53 PLUS for the first time after a product change, we recommend that you first clean the
instruments with deconex 36 INTENSIV. This procedure is particularly important if an aldehyde-containing disinfectant
has been used before and if the instruments contain rubber and plastic parts.
Attention: The efficacy of deconex 53 PLUS is affected by soap, anionic surfactants and activated chlorine.

Information on use
The disinfecting step with deconex 54 SPORCIDE has always to be preceded by thorough cleaning with e.g.
deconex 3-ZYME, deconex 36 INTENSIV or 36 BS, or decontamination with deconex 50 FF/36 INTENSIV. It is
important to disinfect only clean items (free of blood, tissue and protein residues) with deconex 54 SPORCIDE.
deconex 54 SPORCIDE should only be used in a well-aerated room or in a ventilated hood. Further, the disinfectant
tank should always be covered with a lid.
In case of disinfecting hollow instruments, special attention must be paid to an air bubble-free immersion. After
disinfection with deconex 54 SPORCIDE, instruments must be rinsed thoroughly with clean or sterile (if required)
water.
The disinfectant solution can repeatedly be used during 28 days, as long as the following rules are observed:
1. In order to prevent evaporation of the solution, the tank must always be covered with a lid.
2. The instruments to be disinfected have to be clean and dry. This prevents the contamination and, very
importantly, the dilution of the disinfectant solution.
3. As soon as a visible contamination appears, e.g. precipitates, clouds, change of colour, the disinfectant
solution must be replaced by a fresh one.

Application
deconex SOLARSEPT is used for disinfection at places, where a short exposure and drying time is demanded,
where surfaces are hardly reachable and where water sensitive surfaces are to be disinfected.
Such places and objects, respectively, are check up beds, operation tables, other working surfaces, surfaces
of medical devices and equipment and surfaces of furniture. deconex SOLARSEPT is being used in hospitals,
long term care facilities, private medical and dental practices, old people's homes, medical laboratories and tattoo
salons.
Properties
deconex SOLARSEPT is an extremely fast acting disinfectant. An exposure
time of 30 seconds only is sufficient to kill bacteria, fungi and even tuberculosis
bacteria. Also rotavirus and HCV are completely inactivated within
30 seconds. Inactivation of HBV/HIV requires one minute and that of noroviruses
2 minutes. This broad and rapid effect is achieved with a formula
which contains neither formaldehyde nor glutaraldehyde or any other aldehydic
ingredient.
The extremely rapid, microbicidal effect and the short drying time are cutting
the idle hours of the treated objects.
The fresh and pleasant odor of deconex SOLARSEPT is another considerable advantage for the users as well
as for other exposed persons.

deconex SOLARSEPT is a ready to use disinfectant. This is normally used in a wiping process. The product is

surfaces that cannot be wiped.
A complete wetting of surfaces with deconex SOLARSEPT is a prerequisite for full microbicidal efficacy.

deconex 36 INTENSIV is also suitable for soaking instruments for longer

Corrosion or drying out of organic material can thereby be avoided. Rinse
instruments with water before loading the machine.
A special application of deconex 36 INTENSIV is for cleaning surfaces
and instruments made of plastic or rubber materials (flexible endoscopes,
anaesthetic equipment), before changing the disinfectant (aldehyde-containing
amine-containing or vice versa).
deconex 36 INTENSIV is also suitable for use in ultrasonic baths.

Due to its optimum blend of surfactants, deconex 36 INTENSIV has an inherent high cleaning power especially for
organic material.
deconex 36 INTENSIV is pH-neutral and therefore exhibits a wide spectrum of material compatibility.
In its special application, before a change of the disinfectant, deconex 36 INTENSIV removes residues of disinfectant
from plastics and rubber, thereby preventing the occurrence of surface phenomena such as colour changes,
which result from the chemical reaction of aldehydes with amines.

decosept is used wherever perfect hand hygiene is absolutely essential. For example in hospitals, nursing
homes, private medical and dental practices but also in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
In addition to hygienic hand disinfection, decosept is also used for surgical hand disinfection, whether in hospitals
or in private practices.

For hygienic and surgical hand disinfection
Properties
decosept is an alcoholic preparation with a rapid microbicidal
effect. The integrated skin-care additives protect the skin, even
when the product is frequently used. An additional component
provides decosept with the long-term microbicidal effect required
for surgical hand disinfection.
Alcoholic hand disinfectants like decosept are superior to all
available antiseptic soaps. They show a better microbicidal
effect and are easier to use, i.e. there is no need for washbasins
and (sterile) towels. In addition, they are friendlier to the
skin than soaps. The use of alcoholic preparations eliminates
the risk of contaminating clothes and the surroundings through
splashes of water. The time required for hygienic hand disinfection
with decosept is about one sixth of that needed for
hygienic hand washing. This helps the staff to comply with the
rules for hand hygiene and finally saves money.
decosept is filtered to remove eventual spores. Its skin friendliness is excellent and well proven.

Apply only to intact skin. decosept is not a wound or mucous membrane antiseptic.
For surgical hand disinfection, please note the following: Long washing procedures with soap and scrubbing
are counterproductive. They damage the skin without significantly reducing the number of resident germs.
Clean hands should not be washed before rubbing-in an alcoholic preparation. Hygienic hand disinfection with
decosept is sufficient when entering the operating ward. Before using decosept for hand disinfection, only the
fingernails and the spaces beneath them need to be specially cleaned with a soft brush or a soft wooden stick.
Thorough hand hygiene requires good hand-care. It is important to remember the rule: Only a healthy skin can
be disinfected. Injured or diseased skin must be therapeutically treated.
Surgical hand disinfection:
Rub decosept into your hands and forearms for 1 minute. Dispense portions of decosept so that the skin is completely
wetted throughout the period of application.

Hygienic hand disinfection:
Dispense decosept into the hollow of your hand and rub it into
the skin for at least 15 seconds. Make sure that the entire surface
of your hand and the critical places are wetted throughout
the application (see illustration). For some infectious
agents, longer exposure times are required (see table).

Application
deconex 12 BASIC is a mildly alkaline, liquid concentrate for the universal cleaning and decontamination of
laboratory glassware. The product can be used in all industries that use laboratory glassware such as in the
chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the cosmetic and food industries and in universities and service laboratories.
deconex 12 BASIC is also a substitute for chromic acid.
Properties
Based on its composition, deconex 12 BASIC exhibits a wide cleaning spectrum and high swelling power for
stubborn contaminants such as baked-on fats and oils, dried blood, proteins and remains of culture media and
distillation residues. The surfactants used completely wet the glassware and have excellent rinsing properties.
The combination of surfactants with the alkalis and complexing agents removes the contaminants and effectively
prevents them from being redeposited on the glassware. The highly concentrated product has a high
uptake capacity for contaminants and high pH-stability and is intended for use over a period of up to two weeks.
deconex 12 BASIC is compatible with hard water, easily biodegradable and not classified as a dangerous good.

The optimum dosage depends mainly on how difficult it is to remove the contaminants. In practice, the following
dosage has given good results:

deconex 15 PF is an alkaline, liquid concentrate for the targeted or universal phosphate-free cleaning and
decontamination of laboratory glassware. The product is used specifically in phosphate-critical cleaning applications,
especially in routine analysis in environmental and water laboratories.
Alternatively, deconex 15 PF can also be universally used for example in the chemical and pharmaceutical
industries, in the cosmetic and food industries as well as in universities. The product is also suitable for pipette
washers.
Due to its composition, deconex 15 PF has a wide cleaning spectrum and is therefore able to remove stubborn
contaminants such as baked-on fats and oils, dried blood, proteins and baked-on residues of cell media from
previous sterilization. The surfactants used ensure excellent wetting of the glassware and can be easily rinsed.
The combination of surfactants with the alkalis and the complexing agents removes the contaminants and prevents
them from being redeposited on the glassware.
The product exhibits a high uptake capacity for contaminants and pH-stability for use over several days.

deconex 16 PLUS is a pH-neutral liquid concentrate for the particularly gentle cleaning of corrosion-sensitive

Application
The disinfectant-cleaner deconex 51 GASTRO is part of a hygiene regime, applied in kitchens, in the food industry
and in the veterinary field.
The product is suitable for wipe-disinfection of floors, tiled walls, utensils, cutlery, chopping boards, worktops,
mincing and preparing machines, tables, refrigerators, thermophores, food trolleys and other food carriers.
Properties
deconex 51 GASTRO is an economic disinfectant with an inherent cleaning power. It is based on an aldehyde-,
phenol- and QUAT-free formula. Even below room temperature and under protein load, the germicidal activity
remains high. The product is biologically well degradable. Its daily application is perfectly safe, also for the users.
deconex 51 GASTRO has a tuberculocidal effect. Nowadays, this property is increasingly being demanded in canteen
kitchens, e.g. in hospitals.
Other important characteristics of deconex 51 GASTRO are its excellent material compatibility, its rinse-off
behaviour and its discrete odor. The application of the product does not lead to stickiness of treated surfaces.
Shelf life: 36 months after manufacturing date in unopened original container at a storage temperature of 5-25 °C.
