Sustainable mobility – any type of transportation that can help reduce environmental impact. This may include walking and cycling, ecological cars, transit-oriented development, rental of vehicles, public transit, which are economic, contribute to the preservation of space and promote healthy lifestyles.

The decay of the city electric transport at the beginning of the 1990s. Lack of funds for the renovation and repair of rolling stock, technical facilities.

City ET virtually stopped and on its replacement came Peugeot minibuses. They began to duplicate trams and trolleybuses. Considering the low cost of fuel and high bus fares it’s became business, not the municipal service

2011: through the city center held more than 30 routes, making it difficult to move all transport and have made impact on the environment.

Major road repairs were not performed sometimes more than 80 years. Tram lines in some areas were 100% worn

Since 2008 construction of the tram line on the city's largest housing district has began, but due to lack of funding the project was suspended.

In 2010 city signed a loan agreement with EBRD for € 38 mil. In 2011 has been started reconstruction of streets along the tram routes 2 and 6 This year has started the final stage

Has been started the traffic control center. The project is in cooperation with SWARCO. All trams and trolley buses are equipped with GPS-trackers and tram priority on the crossroads, and LED-timetables on the stops

2012: on the streets appeared more than 100 buses with low floor. Number of bus routes was reduced to 52 but passenger capacity has almost doubled

In 2014, Lviv received a grant from the German government and EBRD loan to continue the project. The total amount of € 5 + 6 + 6 million. Tram will start in the end of 2015
