3 Machine Guns The machine guns used during World War I took three people to shoot and stood on a large tripod. Machine guns now have a tripod built in and everyone has their own gun. Insert photo of WWI machine gun here Insert photo of modern machine gun here.

5 In World War I some tanks had two machine guns and some had six. It took three men to steer. It only went four miles per hour! Insert photo of Mark I tank here

6 The Abrams tank is used now. It goes 42 miles per hour. It has 1 cannon and three machine guns on board. There are four men on the tank. Insert photo of M1A1 Abrams tank here.

7 Cornelis Drebbel made the very first submarine in 1620. It was made of wood and leather..

8 The submarines used during WWI were 53.8 feet long. They had a top speed of 6 knots. They only had torpedoes on board.

9 Newer subs are about 337 feet long. They have a speed of around 28 knots. They have torpedoes and missile systems. They are called attack subs.
