Introduction The early settlers walked from place to place in order to travel. Horses were used as a form of transportation during the mid 1800-1900s. A wagon was attached to the horse or stagecoach to carry people and cargo.

HORSES Horses were used to travel. They were also used to herd cattle to market. Horses were used to pull stagecoaches and wagons. INSERT PICTURE

WAGONS Wagons were used as a form of transportation for settlers to travel. Wagon trains were formed for groups of people to travel together. INSERT PICTURES

STAGECOACHES Stagecoaches were used to transport people and cargo. Some stagecoaches were equipped with special features such as curtains and padded seats. INSERT PICTURES
