**NEW Unit Plan** TOPIC: Microsoft Word Word Processing: Software that uses text and formatting features to create documents. Microsoft Word: Software we are using for word processing. Menu: List of options to choose from to format a document. In Word, also called RIBBON.

Microsoft Word Group: Category of icons on a ribbon. Font, Clipboard, Paragraph, Styles, Editing Groups

TOPIC: Microsoft Word Formatting: The layout of a document and how it looks. Font: a specific typeface of a certain size and style. Line Spacing: The spacing between each line. Double space=1 line of text, 1 blank line Bullets/Numbering: A small symbol or number printed just before a line of type, such as an item in a list.

TOPIC: Microsoft Word Alignment (Justification) – position of text on page Left: aligned to left margin Center: aligned in center of margins Right: text aligned against right margin Full Justify: text flushed with both margins Margins: Empty white space around edge of page. Left, Right, Top, Bottom Columns: Vertical division of text on page. Example: newsletters or newspapers Page Orientation: Direction of page. 1. Landscape2. Portrait

TOPIC: Microsoft Word Clipboard Group (Home Menu) Cut: to remove text in order to paste elsewhere. Copy: to make a duplicate of text. Paste: to insert text that has been cut or copied. Format Painter: copies the format of text to other text. TEXT TEXT Painted Text

TOPIC: Microsoft Word Clipboard Group (Home Menu) Review Menu Spell Check: Identifies possible misspellings. Thesaurus: Lists possible synonyms for words.

TOPIC: Microsoft Word Table: Insert menu, Table. Made up of columns, rows, and cells. Picture Tools: Available when you have selected a picture. Borders, wrap text. Unit Plan – Complete ALL by Friday.

Update Unit Plan 1.Check off all of Essential Questions (1-9) 2.Check off all of the I Can statements 3.Check off the Formative Assessments you have completed 4.Check off the Summative Assessments you have completed. 5.Answer all of the Essential Questions (1-9) in the Reflection area on the back of Unit Plan. You must answer in complete sentences, and include the question in your answer.
