12 GLOBAL INTERN PROGRAM How to be accepted on the big Crop Farms? Must have previous experience personally operating farm machinery, learn how to operate/drive the machinery. (Courses offered by Machinery’s companies are not enough); GET PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE! Get down and dirty. (Experience in labs are totally different from the field). Work on farms in your vacation time, volunteer, ask for help from your friend, who may own a farm… If you know how to operate machinery in Brazil, they will train you how to operate the high tech one in USA. DON’T BE AFRAID! Be aware that you will work long hours at times (harvesting season); Improve you English, most problems we have are linked to the communication between intern x farmer. ( You will communicate by Two Way Radios) Spend money on a good English class before you apply.
