To learn about oneself intellectually, emotionally, and physically and to consider the connections between values and behavior. To explore how individuals develop and function in the social, psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions. To plan for a lifetime of fitness, wellness, and physical activity.

9 Health The state of being associated with freedom from disease and illness, high levels of wellness in all areas, a good quality of life, and positive well-being. (Corbin, 2006) Wellness The positive component of good health; affects one’s ability to live and work efficiently, and make a significant contribution to society; a state of being; a product, not a process; multidimensional.
