10. 10 © NOKIA FILENAMs.PPT/ DATE / NN WWRF and other Regional Research Programs FP6 = Framework for EU public R&D funding for 2003-2006, proposed ICT-budget 3.6 Beuro, first calls autumn 2002 WWRF is a discussion forum, EU proposals not formally from WWRF, but are based on WWRF discussions. The WWRF initiative aims to stimulate the creation of regional research programs, e.g., in the US, Japan, Korea, China, etc. A close co-operation of these programs via WWRF is very much welcome WWRF intends to harmonize ideas and to provide a platform for information exchange

These may be helpful to 3GPP2 in defining it’s vision. 3GPP2 member companies are encouraged to learn more about WWRF and the work they are doing. 3GPP2 should consider using some of the output of WWRF (where appropriate) as input to the 3GPP2 Vision Document.
