2 Introductions and aims
Who am I? Importance of self-esteem. Importance of getting to know yourself and your unique child. Some concrete examples. Experiential, reflective, and creative exercises. Be mindful of session limitations, taster activities, and uniqueness of child and context.

3 Why is self-esteem important
Why is self-esteem important? What are the hazards of having low self-esteem? Why is feeling like a unique valued individual important? Why is getting to know yourself and your young person and vice averse important?

4 Positive relational experience
Think about a positive relational experience. What words, thoughts, feelings, body sensations are associated with this experience?

5 Name and story Draw your name (meaning, feelings about it, and stories behind it) and share with your group.

8 Hands exercise Draw an outline around both of your hands. You might want to get your neighbour’s help. If you prefer please ask for a hand template.

12 Exercise 1- In our hands The five sense hand- draw/label a finger signifying 1) something you see which makes you feel good, happy, relaxed, 2) something you can touch which makes you feel good, happy, relaxed, 3) something you can hear which makes you feel good, happy, relaxed, 4) something you can smell which makes you feel good, happy, relaxed, and 5) something you can taste which makes you feel good, happy, relaxed. The self-esteem hand- 1) something I like about myself, 2) something other people like about me, 3) something I am proud of, 4) something I bring to the young people I support, 5) something that makes me uniquely me- other people would be surprised by.

13 Pieces of me In the different pieces of the puzzle- draw or write the parts of your identity or things/people that are important to you.

14 Treasure trove In the treasure chest fill it up with lots of your positive experiences, qualities, and memories.

15 Genie and wishes Genie- My wish for myself, my wish for my child, and my wish for our relationship.
