3. 33 Transcontinental freight routes The major infrastructure projects: Modernization of the Baikal-Amur and Trans- Siberian railways Modernization and construction of infrastructure corridors Primorye-1 and Primorye-2 These projects which will effectively serve current and future traffic flows Key aims of the Russian Federation: Increasing the participation in the transcontinental routes generated by cargo transportation Participation in a project of creating a new route for international road transport "Europe - Western China"

4. 44 Sea transport plays key role of the transit traffic between Asia and Europe The turnover in seaports of Far East basin in January-June 2015 is increased to 83.0 mln. tons (102.7%) while dry cargo turnover increased to 46.7 mln. tons (97.5%), liquid bulk cargo up to 36.3 mln. tons (110.2%) The turnover of East ports is increased to 32.1 mln. tons (114.4%): Vanino - up to 13.3 (102.2%), De- Kastri - up to 5.1 mln. tons (122.7%), Kholmsk – up to 0,8 mln. tons (104.6%) The group of seaports of the Far East Russia are the main nodes through which Asia- Pacific countries made imports’ operations

6. 66 The Northern Sea Route as the shortest path between the ports of North-West Europe and the Pacific region The Russian Federation takes the necessary measures to create conditions for the use of the Northern Sea Route as a transit route between Europe and Asia: Develops transport infrastructure Constructs a specialized fleet, including icebreakers, hydrographic and salvage vessels Develops the port infrastructure The Northern Sea Route Administration was established in 2013 in order to organize the navigation of vessels in the waters of the Northern Sea Route, as well as the safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment from pollution from ships

7. 77 International transcontinental air routes The infrastructure of airports of Khabarovsk and Vladivostok as an international hub airports will be developed in nearest future The regime of “open sky” was started in 2011 at the airport in Vladivostok. It is believed that this option will be the center of interest for airlines in the Asia-Pacific region and they will actively use it The international transcontinental air routes are an important potential transport routes that cross the territory of the Far East and the Baikal region and bind North America, Asia and Europe

8. 88 Transit potential of the Russian cross-border infrastructure A mandatory preliminary information about goods imported into the single customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of Railways was introduced from October 1, 2014 A mechanism of "Single Window" at checkpoints in free port of Vladivostok will be created next year. Since October 2016 there will be only two checkpoints control body - the customs and the border agency There will be also created an automated information system of prior notification of staying, goods and animals
