1. Why? 3 ACER is an indepent EU Body with its own institutional identity and its own budget; ACER needs to assure optimal utilisation of financial and human resources; On the previous web site some operations were too complex; ACER has the institutional need to improve the work of all the stakeholders with the tools available and web site is the first place for dissemination; There was the need to have a continuos training but operations were very complex for some editors. 11
New vs Old 11 A bit easier both for users and editors/administrators; More intuitive; Indeed a lot of space for improvements and a lot of training is needed! How do you define the new web site? Web Site Editors Training – Introduction
12
Known issues The existing editor has a weird behaviour when pages are “malformed”; High security is needed to allow the best user experience and to protect the NRAs; Centralized permissions have created several problems. Web Site Editors Training – Introduction
13
Migration plan 13 Users must be on place as first; Migrate old content and meetings based on each single WG/TF/Board; Give a reasonable time to people belonging to a group to adapt, then everything will become natural. Web Site Editors Training – Introduction
14
New experiences and lessons learned - EIP 14 First impact if difficult for users, hilighting the need for training sessions; The new system enhanced and facilitated the cooperation among ACER and NRAs and among NRAs. Also the European Commission used the same system; A big facilitation for data gathering which is a big task (242 projects in 3 days!); Change management is a real issue: people are still thinking to the old system with a new tool in their hands. What the users think? Web Site Editors Training – Introduction
