1 Maryknoll Email for Students

2 Step 1: YOUR INFORMATION!  Your User Name: Last name + 1 st name initial + year graduating (last 2 digits) Example: marsb 16 (for Bruno Mars class 2016)  Your Personal Password: 14 or more characters (letters, numbers, punctuation marks OK). Letters case-sensitive, so suggest using all lower case. No personal names or information! Bad: AmyLee8411319 Good: amyloveshawaii5-0 (why bad?)

3 Important Notes  Allowed only 3 times to type in User Name & Password correctly – 3 strikes, you’re out! (must wait 15 minutes to try again)  If forget password, contact Tech Dept to reset.  Must change password every 12 months.

4 Step 2: Connecting on Mac  Log in to Student or to Other Student Other  Type in User Name & Password If 1 st time on school Email, use temporary password assigned by Tech Dept. If not 1 st time, type in your personal password.

5 Step 3: Go to OWA  Open a browser – Firefox, Chrome or Safari  Log in to Outlook Web Access (OWA) webmail Type: https://mail1.maryknollschool.org/owa Note: No www & https (not http).

6 Important Notes  If receive warning message there is security problem, or cannot verify website, click: Continue  If message says connection is untrusted, click: I understand the Risks, then Add Exception

7 Step 4: Logging In  Select “public or shared computer”  Type user name + domain extension: Example: marsb18@maryknollschool.org  Type your password: (if 1 st time, use temporary pw)  Click Sign in

8 Step 5: Change Password  After Inbox opens, click on Options at far right  Click Change Your Password  Type in blank boxes  Current password: if 1 st time, use temporary password  New password: your personal password  Confirm new password: your personal password  Click ✓ Save

9 Final Words  If trouble activating Email account, have your teacher contact the Technology Department.  For assistance on how to use Email – including sending, replying, using attachments, changing password – your teacher has a handout.  Maryknoll Email should be used for school-related activities, not for social networking or inappropriate communication. (Test: could you show this mail to mom?)
