Assessment without Levels – all year groups are now moving to new assessment system introduced last year. The mastery curriculum is based on depth of understanding against end of year expectations Parent Workshops Thursday 24th September 2:15pm and 6:30pm Report cards sent out at the end of each term Assessment

Teaching for Mastery for all – no setting; scaffold learning for pupils needing support with a concept; extension through questioning Textbooks – using the mastery teaching approach from Singapore, created specifically for children living in the UK. This approach will build on and promote the current Mathematics teaching in the school, which was highly commended by Ofsted. Maths Parent Workshop 19 th Oct - 6:30pm -20 th Oct – 9:30am -22 nd Oct – 1:45pm No longer have Fluency Friday - all lessons include intelligent practice to develop mental agility in mathematics Daily Counting Maths

Reading –at least three times a week – please use reading record book (house point if book signed 3 times in one week) Weekly mental maths to sharpen arithmetic skills to be given out once a week (no weekly test) Weekly spellings – 15 words – to be given on a Monday and tested on Friday. Combination of pattern words, end of Year expectation words and incorrect words There will be a half-termly homework sheet from which the children can make a weekly choice. They will bring home the homework book on a Friday and it must be returned by the following Wednesday. Homework

Usual stationery items - pencils, sharpeners, rulers, glue stick, rubbers, coloured pencils Reading book/record book Home/school diary Named lunch-boxes and class Names on as much as possible! Uniform – no trainers including Vans or Nike Air Force 1 PE Kit - If children are not able to take part in PE a written letter from parents/guardian is required. Children who do not have their PE kit, they will not be able take part in the lesson. Equipment/Uniform

Activities Abseiling, climbing wall, trapeze, zip wire, challenge course, orienteering, archery, team games, giant swing, Jacob’s ladder, mountain biking lots of others to choose from

Daily Routine 07.00 - 09.00 Get up, get ready and fuel up for the day ahead 09.15 - 12.30 Morning activities - usually 2 sessions with a 15 minute refreshment break 12.30 - 14.00 Dry off & clean up. Time for a fresh & tasty two-course hot lunch 14.15 - 17.30 Afternoon activities - 2 exciting sessions with a 15 minute refreshment break 18.00 - 19.00 Time to eat again - a different menu each day 19.00 - 21.00 Talent shows, campfires, quizzes and more. The evening entertainment programme keeps you laughing until bedtime. 21.00 / 21.30 Bedtime. Catch up on some zzz's and prepare to do it all over again tomorrow!
