I would like to introduce you to some of our staff that will be here to help you this year: Dawn Jantzi, High School Secretary Jill Peterson, Activities Secretary Mary Janata, Guidance Counselor Keri Roberts, Middle Level Counselor Mr. Weddle, Assistant Principal/Activities Director

General Information: The main purpose of today is to welcome you to our school. This morning is for you to accomplish 3 things: 1.Begin the registration process if you have not done so. 2.Ask questions 3.Familiarize yourself with our school

Key Items: Key Items: Students are issued a lunch account PIN number on the first day of school. You should add money to your account on or before the first day of school (or today). Read pages 15 & 16 for more info. When you are sick, please call the school before 8:10am and check into the office upon returning for an Admit Slip. Lockers are for you use, but they are the schools. You may bring a lock, provided that you furnish either the combination, or spare key to the office.

Use the Media Center as much as possible. You must have a pass from a teacher to use the Media Center. It is a great place research and recreational reading. Mrs. Rasmus is a great resource for you. In fact, she will be teaching a Research Skills class to all 7th graders. Visitor Parking is located at the North Entrance. Once the day has started, all doors are locked except for the north doors. We ask that all visitors please check in at the office. Key Items: Key Items:

Once you are enrolled, we can give you your Sips – our on-line student data system – login and password. Students have their own login and parents do as well. Sips can be found on our school web-site: www.wpcadets.org –Click on the Sips button –Great tool for you to see: SchedulesGrades Lunch balance Class information Misc. info Key Items: Key Items:

Activities Information We encourage all students to get involved in some form of activity –Positive for academics –Helps you to make connections with other students JH - 8th period for activities - activity bus will leave at approx 4:25 for Beemer If you are interested in participating and are new to our district you need to check with Mr. Weddle, Assistant Principal/Activities Director to make sure we comply with all NSAA eligibility requirements

Counseling Information At this time, I would like to give Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Janata an opportunity to introduce themselves to you. –Mary Janata, Guidance Counselor –Keri Roberts, Middle Level Counselor

Our Expectations of you: Treat others and their property with respect. Come to school prepared for the day (paper, pencils, homework done, and a good attitude). Use your planner to note key items needed for the coming days. Do the best that you can!

Concluding Comments: Make the most of the opportunities that are around you. Strive to do the best that you can. If you do not succeed at something, take a moment to reflect about why, make the needed adjustments and try again.
