2 World Civilizations Course Description World Civilizations Course Description To become informed global citizens able to interact with people from other cultures and understand their perspectives by learning and thinking critically about contemporary and past societies. A modified curriculum is taught. Curriculum can be viewed on district website.

5 Good To Know http://www.riverdell.org/riverdell/site/default.asp School Wires contains all the important information about this course, including: -Week At a Glance -Homework and long-term assignments (see calendar and assignments tabs) -Extra help -Student Resources Grades can be accessed at any time through Genesis. If you are having difficulty accessing it, contact the technology department.

6 Required Materials Very Important that your child has an AGENDA! To write down homework and upcoming assessments projects and writing assignments. 3 Ring Binder Pencil case with pencils, pens and highlighters.

7 Grading The Following areas are the criteria for computing each student’s marking period grade: Test, Projects & Writing Assignments Quizzes Class Work & Homework Participation & preparation

8 Extra Help Extra help will be from 2:40pm to 3:05pm or until designated time needed Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in room 220. Please make arrangements at least one day in advance, and at least three days in advance for tests and projects to ensure availability.
