By the end of this half term: ALL pupils will: be able to say the time on the hour, half past, quarter past and quarter to. They will recognise at least ten hobbies / sports. MOST pupils will: also be able to give their opinion on different hobbies and sports. They will be able to write a sentence on their hobbies and sports and when they do them. SOME pupils will: also be able to give justifications as well as opinions. They will be able to write an extended sentence. Focus on phonics: Vowels, alphabet KAL: Identify phonemes, letters and words which are similar to and different from English in spoken and written forms Understand and use a range of common words from all word classes, especially verbs Apply their knowledge of language rules and conventions when building short sentences and texts, spoken and written Recognise some basic aspects of agreement where relevant, e.g. gender, singular/plural, pronoun/verb, adjectives LLS: Identify techniques to develop pronunciation, e.g. observing native speakers, speaking aloud, making recordings Improve their ability to memorise, using a range of strategies such as association with a physical response, word association, rhyme and rhythm and visualisation Identify techniques which assist understanding, e.g. looking at the face of the speaker, asking for repetition or clarification, listening for key words Sort and categorise known words and investigate the characteristics of new language KS2 Framework Objectives addressed: L3.1, L3.2, L3.3, L4.1, L4.3, L4.4, L5.2, L5.3, L6.1, L6.3, L6.4 O3.2, O3.3, O3.4, O4.2, O4.3, O4.4, O5.1, O5.3, O6.3, O6.4 IU6.2 Year 6 Autumn Term, first half 05/09/2015St Austin's Primary School 4
