Jigsaw A.k.a. saber saw Narrow blade used for cutting irregular shapes Lifespan of blade usually short

Scroll Saw Similar to a band saw Blade not a continuous loop Used mostly for cutting intricate designs

Reciprocating Saw More powerful than the others Used mostly in demolition or remodeling Can cut through virtually anything

Circular Saw A.k.a. the buzz saw Uses a circular blade instead of a linear blade Usually used to cut straight edges

Chain Saw Used mainly in forestry Most consist of a small two-stroke engine Cutting chain is similar to a bicycle chain with jagged teeth
