Body Planes and Directions

Body planes are imaginary lines/planes that divide the body.

4 Body Planes Sagittal (Midline)= divides the body into equal right and left halves (xz plane on the diagram).

Midsagittal= divides the body into unequal right and left halves.

Body Directions Proximal=situated near the midline or the beginning of a body structure.
