Quick Answers Yes, you do need more lenses, that is one of the beautiful things about having a DSLR. –Since their inception, the interchangeable lens system was appealing allowing armature photographers to not only expand and grow into lenses, but also to adjust to different shooting situations. They offer so many because the BEST for one application isn’t the best for every application.

The 50mm f/1.4 increases your ISO by ten times compared to any f/4.5 zoom, again with no change in noise.
