CZECH STATISTICAL OFFICE www.czso.cz ISCO-08 CZ-ISCO We transformed the ISCO-08 into the national version called CZ-ISCO; it has one additional level, so it has finally 5-digit codes (1362 categories). As for the 4-digit level, the CZ-ISCO is the most precise translation of the English ISCO-08 to Czech language The national version of ISCO-88 called KZAM-R had also 5 digits, but it was not completely identical with international standard

Methodology CZ-ISCO (Metodika CZ-ISCO) - methodological description of coding into CZ-ISCO for the purposes of the labour market statistics. Hypertext Search Engine CZ-ISCO (Hypertextový vyhledávač CZ-ISCO) - electronic tool for searching for individual categories of occupations according to a key word. This tool should be used by users who need to code the occupations into CZ-ISCO.

CZECH STATISTICAL OFFICE www.czso.cz Business sphere - files CZ-ISCO by branches (CZ-ISCO podle odvětví) - recommended codes of CZ-ISCO broken down by NACE divisions. Support for the respondents of ISPV (Podpůrný program pro respondenty ISPV) - electronic search engine/transition tool from KZAM-R (national version of ISCO-88) into CZ-ISCO. It is designed for the respondents of earnings statistics from the business sphere. The tool works on the level of individual codes: after an input of the 5digit code of KZAM-R the tool would provide together with its title also the recommended codes of the new CZ-ISCO and their titles. Transition tool (Převodník) - simple electronic version of the transition key 1:n from KZAM-R to CZ-ISCO Grocery (Výroba potravin) contains the recommendation on CZ-ISCO codes for positions typical in the food industry firms. Retail (Maloobchod) contains the recommendation on CZ-ISCO codes for positions typical in the retail firms.

CZECH STATISTICAL OFFICE www.czso.cz Non-business sphere - files Catalogue of Activities (Katalog prací) - recommended codes of the CZ- ISCO for the positions for the non-business sphere. Budget chapters (Rozpočtové kapitoly) - recommended codes of CZ-ISCO for the individual “budget chapters”, i.e. branches of the public sector, ministries and so on. Other organizations of public administration (Další orgány státní správy) - recommended codes of CZ-ISCO for those institutions of the public sector that are not directly controlled by the government, e.g. courts. Support for the respondents of ISP (Podpůrný program pro respondenty ISP) - electronic search engine/transition tool from KZAM-R (national version of ISCO-88) to CZ-ISCO. Transition tool (Převodník) - simple electronic version of the transition key 1:n from KZAM-R to CZ-ISCO in the form of a list. Town hall (Městský úřad) contains the recommendation on CZ-ISCO codes for positions typical in the town halls/city administrations. 4 files for schools - Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Post-secondary contains the recommendation on CZ-ISCO codes for positions typical in schools.

CZECH STATISTICAL OFFICE www.czso.cz Conclusion The classification CZ-ISCO (national version of ISCO-08) has been completed and implemented in all the statistics that use the occupational breakdown. Several supplementary materials and electronic tools have been prepared and made available to the public on tailor- made web pages. Since 1 quarter 2011 the data with the new CZ-ISCO codes have been acquired by the CZSO network of interviewers within the Labour Force Survey and the doses of LFS data have been sent to Eurostat. Other surveys will follow.
